As I may have mentioned in a previous post, the Cuban Internet is an ever-elusive beast. That is why I chose to defy tradition and not post news while in Cuba. While you're waiting impatiently for me to expose my thoughts, here are some photos for you:

So anyhoo, I couldn't do my usual updates with the Cuban Internet situation as it is. So I'll write an after-the-fact bulletin or two, for the stuff I can remember. Bear with me.

umbrella skirt!!

Back in... um... a long time ago, I saw instructions in my favourite magazine, ReadyMade, to make a skirt out of old umbrellas. I got some old umbrellas, separated the panels, got some thread and a zipper, and then stuffed it all into a drawer for godknowshowlong. After a while I took it out, did some more work on it, then put it away. Over the following months/years I went through the same cycle about five times. Now, thanks to being forced to stay home recovering from gum graft surgery, it's almost done! I'm really excited.
