Poetry translation update!

Bonjour lezamis. Plusieurs d'entre vous m'ont demandé what's going on with the poetry thing alors là je vous fais une petite mise à jour. The chains for the first two poems are complete, and the third poem is only a couple of versions away from the end. J'ai reçu un quatrième poème, qui commence à circuler tranquillement. 

So what about the poems, you ask? J'ai envie de faire un genre de party de lancement quand j'aurai les 3 first complete series. Of course it would be in Montreal because most of you are here, but we could always set up a weblink for the west coast/US/Europe-based contributors. Puis après qu'on a regardé tout notre beau travail je le mettrai sur mon blogue niaiseux pour votre entertainment. Ça pourrait être en février ou mars.

I'm still hiding your email addresses because I get a kick about being secretive and I don't want to release the list until we have run a poem through at about 5 or 6 rounds of translation back and forth. I'm having so much fun!

Anyhoo, I'm writing because almost all of you have done a poem (I have 3 of them going simultaneously), so I'm encouraging you to take on another poem! You won't be given the same poem to do. I have a cute colour-coded chart on which I'm keeping track of who does what. It's your choice, obviously. We're still in this for fun. If nobody steps up, I'll get out there and recruit some more people!

If you just did a poem/already told me you were busy/are simply not up to it, I apologize for bothering you. But the offer will still hold several weeks from now, so please do feel free to respond if you're itching to do another one. We have... um... about 10 more FR-EN translations to go before our 3 chains are complete.

Je continue à cacher vos adresses de courriel parce que je m'amuse à garder le secret et je ne veux pas publier la liste tant que nous n'aurons pas passé un poème à travers 5 ou 6 cycles de traduction dans les deux sens. J'ai tellement de plaisir !

Quoi qu'il en soit, j'écris parce que vous avez presque tous fait un poème (j'en ai 3 qui roule en même temps), alors je vous encourage à prendre un autre ! Je ne vous donnerai pas le même poème, bien sûr. J'ai un joli tableau avec des codes-couleurs sur lequel j’indique qui fait quoi. C'est votre choix, évidemment. Le but est toujours de s'amuser. Si personne ne se porte volontaire, j'irai recruter d'autres personnes !

Si vous venez de faire un poème / m'avez déjà dit que vous étiez occupé / n'avez tout simplement pas le goût, je m'excuse de vous déranger. Mais l'offre tiendra toujours dans plusieurs semaines, alors n'hésitez pas à répondre si vous avez envie d'en faire un autre. Nous avons... euh.... environ 10 traductions AN-FR de plus à faire avant que nos 3 chaînes soient complètes.

creativity (mania?) and unfinished projects

Over a number of years, I started and stopped and started and stopped and started and stopped work on a skirt made from umbrella panels (see post from two thousand freakin nine). This a recurring theme chez moi. I have shelves and drawers and boxes filled with unfinished creative projects. Recently I said to myself, "Self, you don't even really like sewing, and you're not very good at it. Outsource the damned skirt and get it done!" So now I'm actively seeking a person who can make this thing.
